Here at COA, we know how stressful the demands of caregiving can be. We offer primary caregivers of loved ones with early-stage dementia, aged 60 years of age and older, a break through our Respite Program.
This program gives caregivers some time for themselves while their loved ones participate in a therapeutic, supervised social activity program from 9 am - 3 pm, Monday through Friday. Half-day sessions from 9 to Noon or Noon to 3 are also available for those who don't need a full-day of activities.
A face-to-face meeting is required prior to admission. Some grant funding may be available for those who qualify or services can be paid for out-of-pocket by the individual.
COA's Respite Program and Caregiver Support Programs are designed to help the caregiver. Neighborhood Respite Programs are located in Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, New Smyrna Beach, Orange City and Port Orange.
