Wellness Counseling

Local seniors age 60 and older in need of support with depression, stress, addiction issues, family
problems, or other issues may contact COA for help. Free counseling services can be arranged with one of our providers, Aging True.

Nutrition Counseling

COA has partnered with a nutritionist who provides nutrition counseling to those in need of assistance with making healthy decisions about food.

Grandparents as Parents (GAP) -- Summer Camp for Grandchildren

Grandparents as Parents

Grandparents acting as parents to their grandchildren need a little extra support. For six to eight weeks during the summer, COA provides free day camp experiences for children being raised by grandparents. When funds are available, COA also assists with providing items such as educational kits to grandchildren.

Telephone Reassurance

Telephone Reassurance

COA’s Telephone Reassurance program started during the
pandemic in order to check in with isolated seniors, assess or reassess client needs, and provide a listening ear. In a year’s time, COA staff members made more than 20,000 phone calls!

Because of the positive response to this program, we decided to continue calling our clients even after some began to interact in person once again with families, friends, and neighbors.
