MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of Council on Aging of Volusia County is to enrich the lives of our most vulnerable elderly citizens by providing needed services that enable them to remain safely, comfortably, and with dignity in their own homes.
COA offers a range of services to Volusia County seniors--from vibrant Senior Center activities, meal delivery, and reassurance phone calls to In-Home care, Respite Care, and Guardianship. Services are either grant-and donation-funded, which means they are provided at no cost or low-cost to those who qualify, or they can be provided on a private pay basis.
COA takes a holistic approach to caring for local seniors who need assistance in order to remain independent. In addition to our primary services listed above, we offer Telephone Reassurance, Virtual Senior Center Activities, Adult Protective Services intervention, and PetMeals on Wheels (pet food for Meals on Wheels clients with furry loved ones). Current clients who live alone and receive In-Home Services are also provided with emergency alert alarms.
